Trustee Board

Following the transformation to Trustee Boards in Scouts, we are seeking applications for volunteers to join Bedfordshire Scouts Trustee Board. The roles we are seeking to fill are:

  • County Chair (3 year appointment)
  • County Treasurer (3 Year appointment)
  • Six County Trustee Board Members (1 x 3 year, 2 x 2 year and 2 x 1 year appointments)

These trustees will work alongside the County Lead Volunteer and County Youth Lead to form the County Trustee Board. The Trustee Board typically meets 5-6 times per year. The purpose of the Trustee Board is to work together, as charity trustees, to make sure Scouts is run safely and legally. At the heart of their role is a focus on strategy, performance and assurance. Effective Trustee Board governance helps our volunteers deliver fantastic programmes that give young people skills for life. More details about the role can be found in the Trustee Role Description.

Take a look at our Trustee Information Pack to see if the role might be right for you.

We are particularly keen to hear from young people (aged 18-25) and those with experience in the following areas:

  • Business/charity administration
  • Risk management
  • Financial management
  • Health & safety

If you would like to discuss the role in more detail, please contact the current County Chair, Rob Pullinger (, or to apply to join the team, please fill out the online application form below. Note: You must also meet the eligibility criteria to be a trustee, i.e. be aged over 18 and not disbarred from being a trustee.
